One of our devs, on his local machine with a single node not connected to the network, was able to push 10,000 transactions to the node in about 90 seconds.

This test does not mean much: we need to measure the performance on a network, not just a single node. And the test was synchronous. It may be able to handle more asynchronously using more cores. Also does not take into account the size of the block, which would need to be propagated.

But we're having a lot of fun starting to push the limits on things we have built.
