We do have a kind of 51% attack, but because we regulate the rate at which nodes join the network, and bias who can join by stake, it would take a lot if stake and a lot of time to achieve it. Taking a lot of time to control the network makes a lot of PoW or PoS attacks impractical, where an attacker wants to suddenly control the network to reverse a transaction or something.
