It's not about competition, like it's new technologies it's about upgrades
Neo and Tron both achieve a high scale by sacrificing decentralization. We are working on our own solution to the scaling problem, in a future release. So for our first release, we preserve full decentralization.
A fast network which has only weak decentralization is little better than a fast network on a central server. We don't want to cut any corners about keeping the network ownership wide-spread to make it faster. So when we finish engineering our solution to scale, it will still be fully distributed.
